BLANDFORD URIAL (Ovis vignei blanfordi)

INFORMATION

Blandford Urial is found in Sindh province (South of Pakistan). Fortunately, this sub species of Urial is found only in Pakistan. It is considered as the most beautiful Urial specie round the globe. Blandford Urial with horns measuring 26”- 30” can easily be found with us and this size is considered to be representative. It can be hunted in a combo deal with Sindh Ibex.

Altitude and Temperature:

The temperatures may rise to 100°F (38°C) during the day in early October, but are expected to decrease to approximately 90°F (32°C) by the end of the month. Similarly, early March can experience elevated temperatures, but conditions are expected to become even warmer as the month progresses. During December and January, temperatures may drop to 64°F (18°C), allowing hunters to engage in their activities throughout the day without excessive perspiration. The early and late hours of the day may be somewhat cool, but they are not cold.
The highest elevation in this prime Blanford urial and Sind ibex region is approximately 3,300 feet (1,000 m), with the majority of hunting occurring at altitudes ranging from 600 to 2,100 feet (180 to 640 meters).

Hunting season:

The hunting season for Blandford urial commences on October 1st and extends until the conclusion of March. The optimal period for hunting Blandford urial in this region is from mid-November to mid-January, as the weather conditions are most favorable during this time. Hunters should view this as an opportunity for a highly successful hunt, irrespective of the chosen hunting period.

Hunting method and number of days required:

The Sindh ibex and Blandford urial can both be hunted using the spot and stalk method. They can be pursued using both rifle and bow. This hunt presents an excellent opportunity for bow hunters. On the other hand, a bow hunt requires 05 hunting days in addition to 02 days for travel, for a total of 07 days of hunting, whereas a rifle hunt just requires 03 days plus 02 travel days.
